When
Spring Lake Ranch residents are ready to begin the move into the
larger community some choose to join our Aftercare program in Rutland.
Aftercare clients continue the work toward recovery while remaining closely
connected to the Ranch.
Many of the Ranch services including the work program, meals, trips, and
recreational activities continue to be available to those on Aftercare.
Most
importantly, continuity is maintained with our psychiatrist
who sees Aftercare clients in Rutland. Aftercare staff provide ongoing
support with housing, employment, shopping, budgeting, meal planning and
preparation, social skills and leisure activities.
Housing options on Aftercare range from a transitional house
with six clients and full-time staff, to an eight-unit apartment building
in a beautiful Victorian home which is the hub of Aftercare activity,
to privately rented apartments around Rutland.
Other residents return to their home communities or programs elsewhere.
In either case, the Ranch staff work with the residents and their families
to make the transition as smooth and successful as possible.
