Re-Creating the art Room
Posted on May 11, 2010
When it became clear that something needed to be done about the Greenhouse basement, the question was, What? The eponymous greenhouse that once fostered thousands of seedlings was itself transplanted to the hoophouse up by Godley. Its windows and frames could not continue to support the weight of the world. The roof needed repairs, and those basement rooms were no one's favorite place to hang out.
Well, those days are over, now that the pottery studio and art room have moved into their new digs on the eastern side of the basement. Both resources have been expanded, replenished, and re-organized. These days there's plenty of room for Echo's bi-weekly pottery studio, and for freelancers to take advantage of new supplies for painting, drawing, sculpting, collage, and all kinds of projects yet to be dreamed of.
We are also pleased to welcome Beatrice Birch, one of the few practitioners of Hauschka Artistic Therapy in the United States. Bea will be joining us weekly to work with several residents and Rutland clients.
If your feet lead you to Spring Lake Ranch this Spring, be sure to take a look at the new and improved art room.
